UPDATE ON GOLF COURSE SALE MAY 25, 2013
I have just received word on the status of the Auction and thought you should know....
NavPoint Real Estate Group has had more than 70 companies and individuals that have registered interest in the AuctionPoint on-line auction of the Chamisa Hills Golf and Country Club Property in Rio Rancho. The auction is scheduled for Wednesday, May 29th, from 10 am to 2 pm MDT. Detailed information about the auction and the property can be found at www.navpointauction.com/chamisagolf. The starting and minimum bid is $850,000 with no hidden reserves. In my opinion, an excellent value with all the property, facilities and the liquor license that comes with it. With the right vision, marketing, and community support, this property could become a real jewel for the city and even better than it's previous glory days.
Please remember that is is a private auction of private property. I am not privy to witness the auction or follow its progress.
Matt Call, the founding principal at NavPoint, indicates that based on feedback from various interested parties, he expects at least a half-dozen bidders to participate in the on-line auction. Once the winner is declared, they will have two days to finalize their purchase contract with the seller and then about 30 days to complete their due diligence investigation and close on their purchase of the property. I believe that the new owner will then be announced. However, the exact date, time and location of this very important announcement has not been set. I do hope that I will have contact with the winning bidder soon. Like everyone, I am excited that finally someone that is really interested in our community comes forward and has a plan that will be a win-win for everyone involved. Keep positive and stay away from rumors started by the grossly uninformed.
